What is the ratio of students to teachers?
It is very important at SOFCA that each student receives the individual attention needed to excel. The ratio for K4 through 8th grade is 1:18. The ratio for K3 is 1:15. The ratio for K2 is 1:10.
How long has SOFCA been in its current location?
SOFCA relocated to SW Atlanta in October 2004. Prior to our move, we were well-established in Cobb County since August 2000. Our student body has grown from 28 students to well over 130 students.
Does SOFCA offer before and after school care?
Morning Care is available beginning at 6:30 AM at no additional cost. After School Care is available until 5:30 PM at $10 per day for the first child, $8 per day for the second child in the same family, and no additional cost for additional children in the same family.
Does SOFCA offer a summer camp program?
SOFCA hosts an eight-week summer camp program, Camp David. The program offers academic enhancement, weekly field trips, and nutritious meals.
What are the criteria for hiring teachers?
The administration of SOFCA believes that teaching is more than an occupation — it is a ministry. SOFCA only offers employment to individuals who are educated, experienced, and qualified in the profession, with a passion to see students excel and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
What time does school begin/end each day?
School begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM. After-school fees begin at 3:31 PM.
What grades does SOFCA service?
SOFCA services students from 2 to 12 years of age (Kindergarten 2 through 8th Grade).
Does SOFCA offer a hot lunch program?
Breakfast and lunch may be purchased for a nominal fee on a monthly basis; SOFCA does not offer a daily meal plan. Lunch may also be brought from home — microwaves are available for warming pre-cooked, microwavable meals (2.5–3 minutes maximum). Students may not receive food deliveries from services such as Uber Eats, Postmates, DoorDash, or Grubhub.
Do the students wear uniforms?
Daily uniforms are a requirement. Our current uniform vendor is FlynnO’Hara, located at 6311 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, phone (404) 260-7584.
What curriculum is taught at SOFCA?
SOFCA provides excellence in education through the Abeka Curriculum — a traditional, time-tested approach featuring professionally illustrated textbooks, hands-on activities, and a Spiral Learning method that reinforces concepts across subjects.
Does SOFCA offer extracurricular activities?
Yes. Our core curriculum is enriched by Physical Education, Computers, and Spanish classes.
